Glad your straightened out - even if you are at a snail's pace.

I was a little helpless with my first attempt to use this forum. Thanks again for your help and for moving the thread to a better position. Now I will thoroughly think about which content to download. It took 5 hours which is rather long, even with our slow ethernet line (downloads with the PC are faster.

So I chose to install a package which was said to have 300 MB but when the download started, it showed 4 GB. When I clicked on this, no additional content was installed, but when I picked one content, the system asked whether I want to install a package which has already been installed (although it was not marked as "installed"). This helped at least in that the download message disappeared and that the option in the LogicX-Tab-menu "Install additional content" is now not anylonger grey but black.
#Logic pro x download additional content how to
He told me how to stop the repeated and repeated download attempt: start the Mac in the safe mode (not sure this is the correct term as I'm only familiar with the German terms) and then start over again. My biggest success in this story was to find the phone number of the Apple support service and I was really surprised to have somebody on the line within short. I must confess that I only use a Mac for Logic and related apps but otherwise - due to ages of using it - work with the PC and therefore I miss some basics for handling a Mac. There might be an issue with a quite slow internet and unfortunately I have no clue what to do with regards to disk permission, but it seems that nothing is wrong with this. So, it is not an issue of energy settings, 3rd party firewalls or open apps. I will ask our Hosts to move this thread to the " Logic Pro " forum, since Using ASC forum is about, well, Using Apple Support Communities 😉ĭuring my search I found the referenced information "Downloading 'Essential or Additional Content' or the Logic Pro X app Tips" and followed most of it before opening this thread.
